What a voucher is for

A voucher covers the cost of an appointment. The person receiving it books in the usual way, mentions the voucher when they book, and the value comes off what they would otherwise pay.

It is not tied to a particular treatment, which is deliberate: what someone needs is decided at their appointment, not by whoever bought the gift.

How long it lasts

At least three years from the date of purchase. That is the minimum required by Australian Consumer Law for gift cards sold since November 2019, and the expiry date is printed on the voucher.

No fees are charged after purchase for using it. Also the law, and also worth knowing — some places still try.

What it does not cover

Herbal medicine. Herbs are never supplied without a consultation, and what is appropriate depends on the person's history and what they already take. So a voucher cannot include them in advance. If herbs turn out to be appropriate after the consultation, they are arranged then.

Products are not included either. A voucher is for time with a practitioner.

Buying one

Ring the clinic on 0416 656 388 or ask at reception. You will need the recipient's name and the amount; you do not need to decide what treatment it is for.

If you want it for a particular occasion, say the date when you order.

One thing to consider first

A health appointment is a personal thing to give. For someone who has mentioned wanting to try this, it is a kind gift. For someone who has not, it can land as a comment about their health rather than a present.

If you are not sure, ask them first and lose the surprise. It is the better trade.
